Jack Clarke progressed through the academy at Leeds United to become a pivotal part of their first team last season, before moving on to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur this summer and instantly returning to Leeds on loan.

The England U20 international featured 25 times and scored twice for Leeds last campaign, becoming more important to Marcelo Bielsa's side as the season wore on.

However, since returning in the summer on loan, the 18 year-old has only appeared twice, both in the Carabao Cup, and is still awaiting his first Championship appearance of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino won't be happy that the teenage winger he signed for the future is currently failing to get valuable gametime in the Championship as part of Bielsa's squad, a man that the Champions League runner up looks up to, but the rumours have been circulating that Clarke is in danger of being pulled back by Spurs, an invaluable loss to Leeds as the season wears on with a squad looking for that elusive promotion.

Clarke is one of the more talented youngsters outside of the top flight, but now seems to be out of favour with the Leeds manager Bielsa. Clarke can bring pace and a different dynamic to the Leeds frontline if he were to force his way into the side however there must be a reason why Clarke isn't impressing Bielsea this season.

The teen forward has been a regular feature in the U23s this season, maybe Bielsa doesn't feel that Clarke's fitness is up to scratch for the first team, maybe he prefers the likes of Jack Harrison in Clarke's favoured position.

However, this loan spell won't be seen as a complete waste of time for Clarke. It's a good loam for his learning, having to learn just what it takes to fight for his place in the first team and it'll be a mental test for him. Can Clarke cope with the pressures of trying to make Leeds' matchday squad and eventually get back out on the pitch at Elland Road? No matter what happens for Clarke this season, persevering with his situation at Leeds will be the right idea.
