Bristol City face Ipswich Town in the Championship tonight and are in desperate need of a win to revive their chances of making the play-offs.

The Robins dropped out of the top six at the weekend, after losing 1-0 to high-flying Leeds United and have now lost three of their last four league games.

City fans will be confident of a win tonight though, as their side prepares to face the Championship's bottom club Ipswich.

However, Lee Johnson and his players cannot afford to take their opponents lightly.

There is no denying that it has been a dismal season for Paul Lambert's Tractor Boys, who currently find themselves 12 points adrift at the foot of the table with ten games remaining.

Town have only managed one win from their past 14 league games and will be desperate to end that run tonight - this is something that could work against Bristol City.

With Ipswich's chances of survival all but over, anything less than three points for the play-off chasing Robins would have to be considered a massive disappointment.

With that said, there are no easy games in the Championship and City cannot afford to underestimate their opponents, who have nothing to lose after a dreadful season.

After falling out of the top six at the weekend and with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa breathing down their necks in the table, the pressure is very much on the Robins to deliver a result in front of their own supporters.

On the other hand, with their relegation all but confirmed, Ipswich can afford to play with more freedom and their players will all be desperate to impress Lambert with a season in the third tier almost inevitable - this is something City should be wary of.

Ipswich showed tremendous determination and tenacity in their 1-1 draw against play-off chasing West Brom at the weekend.

After falling behind early on the Tractor Boys proved more than a match for their opponents and arguably deserved all three points.

If Lambert's side can replicate that sort of performance at Ashton Gate tonight, Bristol City could suffer a huge dent to their play-off hopes.
