Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers are firmly in the pack chasing the play-offs after a 1-0 victory over local rivals Bolton Wanderers last week.

Victory at the University of Bolton Stadium took Rovers to within a point of the top six and fans will be hoping they can maintain this form throughout the season.

It will be a difficult ask of course, but with Bradley Dack in their team, they have every chance of securing a play-off spot at the end of the season.

Of course, one player doesn't make a team though, and with the January transfer window drawing ever closer, further additions will be needed if Rovers are to kick on from their current 10th position.

One major drawback that Blackburn may face is their habit of conceding sloppy goals, they have conceded 15 goals in their opening 12 league games and this needs to stop if they are to succeed.

One player, therefore, that Blackburn should definitely look to reignite interest in to shore up their defence is Charlton Athletic defender Patrick Bauer.

The German has recently admitted that he will not be signing a new deal at the Valley having not been offered a new contract, as he approaches the final year of his current one.

Rovers were understood to have bid around £500,000 for the towering centre-half back in the summer, however the London club insisted that the 25-year old was not for sale.

So with his contract set to expire, the Addicks may look to cash in for a cut-price in January, giving Mowbray the perfect opportunity to pounce.

Bauer has been an everpresent for Charlton over the last few years following his arrival from Maritimo in 2015, making over 100 appearances for Lee Bowyer's men.

But Rovers' defence does need some reinforcements, and Bauer could be the perfect solution...
