West Brom face a big challenge to make the top two after they were defeated by promotion rivals Leeds on Friday night.

The Whites outclassed Darren Moore's men and were relentless, thoroughly deserving the 4-0 victory.

However, Albion certainly helped Leeds by producing a poor display, with the manager also facing criticism for some of his decision making.

One call that looked particularly debatable was starting Tosin Adarabioyo at left-back ahead of Conor Townsend after Kieran Gibbs was ruled out through injury.

The former Scunthorpe man will have been bitterly disappointed that Moore opted to go with the on-loan Manchester City man as he is naturally a centre-back.

As well as that, he isn't left-footed and his inclusion at full-back disrupted the whole balance of the team.

Townsend would've given the team natural width and an outlet when going forward, whereas Adarabioyo had to cut back inside all the time and didn't look to support in the final third.

The role of the full-backs are particularly important in Albion's side as they are reliant on width to come from them as they play with a narrow front three at times - which was the case at Elland Road.

So, the fact he was left out will have seriously concerned Townsend and he will wonder why he wasn't trusted by the boss in what was such a crucial game.

Obviously, Moore will hope that Gibbs is available for the next game but if he isn't then the Baggies chief must turn to the 25-year-old Townsend who has to be his natural replacement.
