‘Who’s injured now?’ – Plenty of Leeds Utd fans react to player’s return to the club

Leeds United Under-23’s keeper Will Huffer is set to return to Elland Road after the conclusion of his loan spell with Barnet.

The National League club tweeted their thanks to the young stopper for his services during his loan spell, which saw him play three matches, including a 3-3 draw with Brentford in the FA Cup.

He signed off his stay at the Hive with a clean sheet as the Bees earned a 0-0 draw with Sutton United. His only outing for Leeds also brought a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Bristol City earlier this season.

He now returns to Elland Road, but the circumstances of his return are shrouded in mystery. With Kiko Casilla the new number one, Bailey Peacock-Farrell is likely to play for the Under-23’s, meaning Huffer won’t get a game at any level.

That’s prompted Leeds fans to question his return, wondering if there’s an injury to a current keeper. A tweet by Barnet, quickly deleted, claimed they couldn’t extend the deal due to one of the Leeds’ stoppers being injured.

Whether that is the case or not, it hasn’t stopped the rampant speculation building on Twitter, with fans fearing the worst after a horror season of fitness worry.

Here’s their responses below.
