‘Wholesome content’ – Luke Ayling latest has delighted these Leeds United fans

Luke Ayling returned to action for the first time this season on Monday night after he’d been left sidelined by ankle surgery that was undertaken in the summer.

The full-back competed for Leeds United Under-23s in their Professional Development League fixture against Watford.

The Whites were in full control in the fixture and ran out 6-0 winners.

Ayling managed to play a part as he came on at half-time to make his first minutes of the 2019-2020 season, a welcome boost for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The 28-year-old’s night got better when he rounded off the night for the young Leeds side, as he hit their sixth with a rebounded effort coming off the Watford goalkeeper.

It was a joyous night for the Under-23s, and was a chance to give valuable minutes to players such as Jack Clarke, Eddie Nketiah, Barry Douglas and, of course, Luke Ayling.

Here’s how Leeds United supporters reacted to Ayling finding the net on his return to action…
