Football League World's Swansea City fan pundit Jacob Bellayuto says he would completely understand if the club's star attacker Andre Ayew was eager to move to Leeds United in January.

Ghanasoccernet reported the link on Sunday, sparking plenty of fear amongst the South Wales club's fan base, with Marcelo Bielsa's promotion-chasing unit set to appeal to most second-tier stars.

But whilst Bellayuto would understand the desire for Ayew to leave for Elland Road, he hopes the player goes about it in the right way.

"Who wouldn't want to play for Leeds? A team that looks almost guaranteed for a return to the Premier League," the regular punter told Football League World.

"We all know he is good enough for the Prem and that is where he wants to be. But, I hope he doesn't push for the move himself.

"It brings a bad energy to the team and I hope if a deal gets done, it is because management decided the deal was too good, not because he sits himself out."

So far this season, Ayew has played 20 times in the Championship, netting seven goals and assisting a further five and appears to be thriving under Steve Cooper.

In total, during his four years in South Wales, the 30-year-old has 21 goals in 68 appearances.

As things stand with 22 matches played, the Swans sit in 10th place, with a 3-1 weekend win against Middlesbrough moving them back to within a point of the play-off places.

Leeds, on the other hand, are sitting comfortably inside the automatic promotion places with ten points separating them from third-placed Preston North End.
