Exeter City fans have erupted with anger on social media after their captain was allowed to join MK Dons for free today.

Former manager Paul Tisdale left the Grecians after their play off final defeat against Coventry, but one of his first actions has been to return for highly-rated Jordan Moore-Taylor.

The 24-year-old was still under contract for the forthcoming campaign, but a clause in his deal stipulated he could leave the club on a free transfer if Exeter failed to win promotion. In losing to Coventry, that clause became active and rather ironically, it was the man in charge when the deal was signed who has profited.

Moore-Taylor has emerged from the club's academy and made 149 appearances for Exeter, scoring seven goals.

Their fans are angry at losing one of their best players and have taken to social media to demand to know why such a clause was ever allowed. Their anger as led to wild suggestions as to why they lost the play off final and that he knew in advance what was going on.

There's now a strong feeling that long-serving Tisdale won't get a warm reception next season, despite winning double promotions in his 12 years with the Grecians, as well as leading them to successive play off finishes.
