It has recently been reported by TEAMtalk that Middlesbrough are targeting a move from Livingston forward Lyndon Dykes before the January transfer window slams shut.

Boro can't afford to waste any time in this potential deal, with the deadline for any incomings set for 11pm on Friday 31st January.

Dykes has caught they eye of Middlesbrough so far this season, and TEAMtalk have also revealed that Boro have watched the forward in action twice already this term.

The 24-year-old has scored 11 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season, with eight of those coming in Livingston's league campaign.

Dykes has spent the majority of his career in Australia so far, but signed for Scottish side Queen of the South in 2014.

But a return to Australia wasn't far off though, as he returned to sign for Redlands United after a short stay in Scotland. A brief spell with Gold Coast City was followed by a move to Surfers Paradise Apollo where he scored 17 goals in 15 appearances in a successful time with the club.

That impressive run of form saw him attract interest from Queen of the South again, as he moved back to his former club in 2016 under the management of Gavin Skelton.

Dykes scored 23 goals in 136 appearances in his three years with the Scottish outfit, before earning a move to Livingston in 2019.

He's been in impressive form for Livingston as well, as he scored a hat-trick against Ross County earlier this season to become the first player in the club's history to score three goals in a match in the Scottish Premiership.

So, it could be a somewhat frantic but enthralling end to the January transfer window for Middlesbrough, and their rumoured interest in Dykes is a transfer story to keep an eye on with Deadline Day fast approaching for Jonathan Woodgate's side.

The Boro boss will be hoping he can make the necessary additions to his squad as they look to fire themselves up the table after a disappointing start to this year's campaign.
