Huddersfield Town have recently confirmed that they have signed Leicester City midfielder Andy King on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season.

King has had a hugely successful career to date, and will be hoping that he can add something to Danny Cowley's side at the earliest of opportunities.

The Terriers are struggling at the wrong end of the Championship table at this moment in time, and are currently sat 20th in the second tier standings, and are just four points clear of the relegation zone.

So, it's clear to see that reinforcements were needed in January, and Cowley seems to be wasting no time in drawing up a list of potential transfer targets.

King is a player that has experience of playing both in the Championship and in the Premier League, which will mean that he's a useful addition for Huddersfield this season.

He made 33 appearances for the Foxes when they won promotion into the top-flight in the 2013/14 season, and that winning mentality could come in useful for Cowley's side.

Huddersfield are stuck fighting for their Championship status this season, but having a player of King's experience arrive at the club will be a real boost.

King also played his part in Leicester City's famous title-wining season in the Premier League, as he made 29 appearances under the management of Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/16 campaign.

But with Leicester competing for European places in the top-flight, King was pushed further down the pecking order, which didn't come as a surprise.

The Welshman had relatively quiet loan spells at both Swansea City and Derby County in recent seasons, before making the move up to Scotland to play for Steven Gerrard's Rangers side.

That loan spell with the Gers didn't go as planned though, with King making just five appearances in total for the Scottish giants, as they look to keep the pressure on rivals Celtic for the league title.

So, it didn't come as a surprise to see King briefly return to Leicester after this unsuccessful loan spell with Rangers, and he'll be hoping that his latest move to Huddersfield Town can be the one that kickstarts his career, which has somewhat stalled in recent seasons.
