Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has not held back in a recent interview with Talksport - with the Italian businessman questioning the Leeds players' commitment to the team.

This is what he said to Talksport:

“We have given them everything possible to just focus on the football,” said the Leeds chief, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT host Jim White.

“As a club we support them in everything - we gave them long-term contracts, we supported them going to a mid-season camp in Spain.

“We did everything they wanted, but we didn’t get back their commitment, passion and the spirit, particularly in the last game, the most important game against Middlesbrough away and we played very poorly.

“For me, that was the bottom of the season because there was no commitment, no passion and no spirit.

“I don’t want players in my team and representing Leeds United with this behaviour, so I hope they can learn and will be here with me next year playing better and with more commitment.”

Here are our verdicts on his bold comments....

When am I going to stop reading outlandish statements form this guy?

Who is he, the club manager?

No, he's not and he should leave comments on the players to those who he pays to deal with them.

I could just about stomach his outburst against Wolves, but this leaves a real sour taste in my mouth.

I thought Leeds were lucky to get rid of Cellino and that they'd started a new era where the owner didn't meddle in team affairs.

I'm not so sure anymore.

It seems a bit over the top for me.

Radrizzani is doing all he can to deflect away from his own failings. Firstly, it was the silly tweets about Wolves now he is questioning the attitude of his players.

The reality is, Leeds have a squad that are mid-table in terms of quality and that's where they are in the league.

The problem is him and Victor Orta. They sold good players and failed to replace them with quality, what did he expect?

It’ll separate the men from the boys in Heckingbottom’s dressing room.

For me, the performances in 2018 have been abysmal and the owner has every right to question the player’s commitment.

Some will disagree with the way he is going about it, but there has been far too much of a ‘nice guy’ approach from Radrizzani and it is good to see him getting tough after a miserable run of form.

George Dagless

It's just completely unprofessional.

Hammer the players behind closed doors all you want by all means, he owns the club and pays their wages after all.

But in public, on national radio? I think that's a bit much. Only the manager should be able to out his players in public in my eyes and I can't imagine Hecky is too impressed.
