The East-Midlands derby is certainly one of the most intense rivalries in the UK as the two sides remain united by Brian Clough, but divided by a small stretch of the A52.
And both sets of fans would argue that they are one of the biggest clubs outside of the top-flight.
This claim is perhaps justified by the home support that the two sides maintain even in times of negativity. Forest remain under a transfer embargo and have struggled at home recently and despite slightly decreased attendances, the fans at the City Ground still succeed in making a racket.
Derby County’s attendances however, have rocketed since their initial run of good form under Steve McClaren and their fans have continued to turn up in huge numbers as fans hope Paul Clement can turn high investment into a promotion winning outfit.
And despite what either set of fans may argue, both teams have quality home support that they can be proud of.
