West Bromwich Albion defender Allan Nyom has left the club to join Spanish side Getafe and the news has drawn a mixed reaction from Baggies fans.

The 31-year-old joins the La Liga side for an undisclosed fee after three years at the Hawthorns.

Nyom arrived at the club in 2016, joining from Watford, and made a total of 67 appearances for the Baggies.

An exit this summer always looked on the cards for the right-back after he spent last season on loan with fellow Spanish side Leganes.

In a statement on wba.co.uk, the club wished: "Allan and his family all the very best in the future."

Nyom is the 11th player to leave West Brom since the end of last season but it appears the Baggies already have his replacement in the squad.

The Baggies signed Darnell Furlong from QPR on a four-year deal for a reported fee of £1.5 million.

The defender was the fourth signing under new boss Slaven Bilic, with Filip Krovinovic, Kenneth Zohore, and Semi Ajayi all having arrived at the Hawthorns this summer.

West Brom came close to achieving promotion last season, finishing fourth and losing to Aston Villa in the play-off semi-final, and will be hoping they can go a step further under their new boss.

Nyom's departure has split the Hawthorns faithful, with some celebrating his exit and others thanking him for his service.
