Derby County and Leeds United are arguably two of the biggest clubs in the Championship, but which club is bigger?

Both clubs enjoyed success in the 1970's when they were among the top clubs in the English top-flight.

During the 1970's, Derby County lifted their two League Championships in 1972 and 1975 - Leeds United won one of their three league titles in 1974.

Success in European competition is what separates the two teams. Derby County's greatest achievement on the European stage was reaching the semi-finals of the 1973 European Cup where they lost out to Juventus.

Leeds United have won two European trophies in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup which they claimed in 1967 and 1971. They also reached the final of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1973 and the European Cup in 1975.

In terms of the head to head between the two clubs, Leeds United have had the better with 53 wins to Derby County's 35.

Both clubs now share the ambition of making a return to the Premier League.
