It was certainly a season to remember for Sunderland in the 2013/14 season, as they reached the League Cup final.
The Black Cats beat the likes of Peterborough United, Southampton, Chelsea on their way to the semi-final of the competition.
They then beat Manchester United in a dramatic penalty-shootout at Old Trafford to book their spot in the League Cup final against Manchester City.
But their memorable cup run came to an end as they were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in a closely-fought battle between the two sides.
Fabio Borini opened the scoring after just ten minutes, but the Premier League giants responded with goals from Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesús Navas to lift the trophy.
