The 2012/13 season was not exactly one that supporters of Blackburn Rovers will remember all that fondly.

Following relegation from the Premier League at the end of the previous campaign, Rovers' first season back in the Championship saw them go through no fewer than five different managers, and they eventually finished 17th in the second-tier table, just four points clear of the relegation zone.

One moment from that season that Blackburn fans will look back on with happy memories however, was a 1-0 win over Arsenal in the fifth round of that year's FA Cup.

Having been handed a trip to the Emirates Stadium following wins over Bristol City and Derby, Rovers survived something of an onslaught from the Gunners, before Colin Kazim-Richards scuffed in a shot on the rebound after Martin Olsson's initial effort had been parried away by Arsenal 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny 72 minutes into the game.

That would ultimately prove to be enough for Rovers to claim victory, sparking wild celebrations in the away end at the Emirates, giving those long-suffering fans something to finally cheer about.

But what happened to the Blackburn starting lineup named by then-manager Michael Appleton that day?

Here, we run through that starting XI to find out where they are now.

This would be quite a day for the then 22-year-old Kean, who had only claimed a regular spot between the posts for Rovers earlier that season, with the 'keeper making a string of stunning saves to keep his side in the game.

In the end however, this would prove to be something of a false dawn for Kean at Ewood Park, who would leave in 2015 having made a total of 44 appearances for the club in four years. He's now a player/goalkeeper coach at Notts County, having previously been on the books of Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday and Mansfield following his Ewood exit.

The man whose shot created the chance for Kazim-Richards, Martin Olsson would leave Blackburn for Norwich at the end of that same season.

He spent three-and-a-half years at Carrow Road before joining Swansea in January 2017, and has been a free agent since leaving the Welsh club last summer. It was reported last month that the 31-year-old was on trial with current Championship leaders West Brom, although no news has yet emerged about a permanent deal for the left-back.

A big-money signing the summer before Blackburn's relegation from the top-flight, Dann stayed at Rovers until January 2014, racking up just over 100 appearances for the club, captaining the side in this famous win.

Having joined Crystal Palace at that point, the centre back has been with the Eagles ever since, featuring a total of 157 times for the Premier League club.

It's probably fair to say Bradley Orr is not a particularly popular figure around Ewood Park, given his lacklustre performances on the pitch and comments off it following Rovers' relegation from the Premier League in 2012.

This would be one of his last appearances for the club, with the defender going on to spend spells on-loan with Blackpool and Toronto in 2013 and 2014, before announcing his retirement from football following his release by Rovers in early 2015.

The identical twin of the aforementioned Martin, Marcus Olsson would remain at Blackburn until January 2016, when he joined Championship rivals Derby.

The Swede remained at Pride Park until the end of last season, when he was released by the Rams having not played a single minute of the 2018/19 campaign due to a serious knee injury, and has yet to find another club.

A future Blackburn captain, Hanley went onto make 200 appearances for the Lancashire club before leaving for Newcastle in the summer of 2016.

The defender would make just 17 appearances in all competitions during his one season at St James' Park, before moving to his current club Norwich, who he helped win promotion to the Premier League as Championship title winners last season, although the Canaries current league position suggests it could be a swift return to the second-tier for the Scot.

An undisputed Blackburn legend, Morten Gamst Pedersen would leave the club at the end of the 2012/13 season with 349 appearances for Rovers to his name.

After a spell with Karabukspor in Turkey following his Ewood departure, he then returned to play in his native Norway, first with Rosenborg and then his original first club Tromso, who he left at the end of 2019. Pedersen returned to Blackburn to train with the club earlier this year, and even made an appearance on the Ewood Park pitch ahead of the Lancashire derby with Preston in January, receiving a rapturous reception from the home crowd.

This win over Arsenal was Williamson's Blackburn debut, having been signed for the club just days before following his release from Portsmouth a month earlier.

The midfielder would go on to make 89 appearances for the club, most memorably picking up a red card for denying Danny Ings a clear goalscoring opportunity in a derby draw with Burnley - "he took one for the team" - before leaving Ewood Park in the summer of 2016. Williamson spent the following year with Burton, and is now playing in the non-league pyramid with Kidsgrove Athletic.

Another future Blackburn captain, Lowe would wear the armband as Blackburn suffered relegation to League One in the 2016/17 season.

The versatile midfielder was released by Rovers following that drop into the third-tier having made just under 200 appearances for the club, and after spending the following season with Birmingham, joined Bolton in the summer of 2018, with the 28-year-old still playing - and captaining - the seemingly League Two bound Trotters now.

Kazim-Richards' matchwinner at the Emirates was one of just five goals he scored during his loan spell from Galatasaray that season.

Following the end of the campaign, the striker failed to make another appearance for Galatasaray before joining another Turkish side in the shape of Bursaspor, for the 2013/14 campaign. Spells with Celtic and Feyenoord followed, before Kazim-Richards headed first for Brazil and now Mexico, where he recently joined Pachuca, his third club in less than two years in the country.

In Rhodes' debut season at Ewood Park in the 2012/13 campaign, the club's joint record signing scored 28 goals in total - an incredible feat when you consider their overall struggles - to earn himself the club's Player of the Year award.

The Scotsman would continue to bang the goals in until he left Ewood to join Middlesbrough at the end of the 2016 winter transfer window, where he would find goals harder to come by, something he has also struggled with since joining current club Sheffield Wednesday, as well as during a loan spell with Norwich's promotion-winning side last season.
