Nottingham Forest are edging closer towards the signing of AFC Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling.

According to Alan Nixon, the Reds are in “advanced talks” with the midfielder, who is set to leave Bournemouth on a permanent basis.

Forest currently lack depth in midfield, with Ryan Yates, Jack Colback and Harry Arter all currently unavailable through injury.

Samba Sow has also been linked with a move away with his contract expiring in the summer, leaving scope for a new midfielder to arrive.

Gosling has made 15 appearances for AFC Bournemouth this season, with eight of those coming from the off.

His contract at the Vitality Stadium is set to expire in the summer, with the Cherries keen to offload him in order to fund a move for Preston’s Ben Pearson.

Many Forest fans have since reacted to the news that Gosling is set to arrive at the City Ground, with many left unhappy at the profile of the potential addition.
