Sheffield United threw away the chance to sit top of the Championship last night with a 10 minute capitulation at Villa Park.
The Blades looked to be cruising home going into the closing stages of the game following a Billy Sharp hat-trick, but three goals from Tyrone Mings, Tammy Abraham and finally Andre Green were enough to send Villa Park wild and see Dean Smith’s men take three points.
The result was a bitter blow for Chris Wilder’s men given the circumstances, but the draw should not detract from the achievement of Billy Sharp, who hit his 100th and 101st goals for the club with a brilliant poachers hat-trick.
While Sharp will be disappointed with his team’s overall result in the end, he should be proud of his record for his boyhood club, and there was plenty of fan reaction on Twitter following the game, with Blades fans singing the praises of their skipper.
With that, we’ve taken a look at just what Blades fans had to say about Sharp following the game…
Sheffield United's capitulation was shocking. That clearance at the end appalling and the keeper poor all night. Billy Sharp unbelievable again though! #SUFC
