Bristol Rovers kept up their impressive summer yesterday by capturing defender Tom Davies from Coventry City, as reported by their official website.

It's another coup coming quickly on the back of Mark Little's arrival from Bolton Wanderers. After a season of struggle, it seems as though manager Graham Coughlan is keen to ensure a stronger, more resolute Gas going into the new season.

Davies has been with Coventry for two seasons, helping them to promotion from League Two as well as a play-off assault this time out. They fell just short of the top six, but the centre-half had a key role to play in an impressive season.

He counts Accrington Stanley and Portsmouth amongst his former clubs after coming through the non-league ranks with the likes of FC United of Manchester, Lincoln City and Southport.

Manager Coughlan was clearly delighted, saying, "We are really pleased to add Tom to the squad, everyone has been working hard to get it over the line and it's great he's chosen to join the project here.

"Tom is a recognised Football League central defender, who will add a lot of solidity and quality in the heart of the back four."

Supporters have been equally as impressed with the business, with one asking the question; 'What's going on?' in the wake of such a strong start to the summer.
