‘What we need’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Friday’s Championship developments

Sheffield Wednesday appear to be fighting a losing battle in the Sky Bet Championship now, with relegation into League One looking a real possibility.
There were signs of fight in Darren Moore’s side prior to March’s international break as they beat Barnsley, but that’s not been built on.
Yesterday, a Tom Lees own goal at Watford resigned the Owls to a 1-0 defeat, which left them 23rd in the table still.
Later in the day, Birmingham City pulled off a surprise result too, with Scott Hogan’s 91st minute penalty against Swansea City picking up a big three points at the bottom of the Championship.
Wednesday are now seven points adrift of safety, with only eight matches of the season still to play, as Dom Howson pointed out on Twitter.

As expected, there’s been a sea of reaction after the loss at Watford and Birmingham’s win later on, with many Wednesday fans feeling that the writing is on the wall now and League One beckons…
Fair play Birmingham City, I watched the game and they didn’t have one player prancing around the pitch scared to get hurt like we have in Adam Reach. Team of grafters grating there way to safety.

good, going down is what we need as a club. we can’t afford staying up, it just delays the inevitable of going down next season. at least this way we can have a proper rebuild and start planning promotion, look at wolves, leeds and even barnsley if they manage to go up

We’ve had all season to get the points ,you can’t do it in 8 games , to many changes in managers by a Chairman out of his depth and with him in charge I fear for our great club

We've been down for months. Not an ounce of fight shown all season. Time for Chansri take responsibility and sell up.

Nailed on win against Cardiff, just to dangle that improbable carrot.

We've been going down all season.
