Huddersfield Town have confirmed the departure of midfielder Reece Brown to Peterborough on-loan until the end of the season.

Having only joined in the summer, Brown has been sent out on loan by Danny Cowley in order to gain some much-needed experience in a lower division after making little to no impact at the John Smith’s Stadium this campaign.

Brown shone in League Two last season for Forest Green as they made it to the play-off semi-finals. Playing in attacking midfield, he was an integral part to their promotion push and hit double figures for both goals and assists, getting 11 for each.

His arrival at the Terriers under Jan Siewert was clearly with the view to see him grow before making his way into the first-team, and that has been the case with just one first-team appearance to his name so far under both managers.

His one match was against Lincoln City in the League Cup and now he has a loan to Peterborough United to look forward to, in order to gain experience under Darren Ferguson.

Having never played regularly higher than League Two level, this provides Brown with a great chance to prove he can play higher than League Two and succeed in doing so, playing for a free-scoring side in Peterborough.

It did seem a confusing transfer decision to sign him, to then not play him, to then loan him out. Here, we take a look at how fans responded to the news of Brown’s League One loan being confirmed...
