Charlton Athletic have no intention of signing free agent Florentin Pogba despite the defender having trained with the club this week, according to South London Press reporter Richard Cawley.

Pogba has been training with the South London club in order to develop his fitness following his release from MLS side Atlanta FC, but it has now emerged the Addicks will not be signing the defender on a permanent deal despite their reported interest.

The Sun had claimed that a deal could be struck for Lee Bowyer to sign the defender, who is the brother of Manchester United midfielder Paul, but it is now being reported that Charlton only offered the training sessions to Pogba as a favour.

Cawley took to Twitter to share this update quashing Charlton's reported interest in the defender, with the relegation-threatened Addicks having only signed one player this transfer window, with Aston Villa winger Andre Green the sole addition.
