Wilson Palacios may not have been a world-beater, but he did establish himself as one of the most consistent midfielders that the Premier League has seen in recent seasons.

His first experience of English football came in 2007 when he agreed a loan deal with Birmingham City after looking to make the move away from Honduran side Olimpia.

Palacios showed glimpses of what he was capable of at St Andrews under Steve Bruce and that was what earned him a permanent switch to Wigan Athletic when Bruce left the Blues to join the Latics.

After 41 appearances with Wigan Palacios earned a big-money move to Tottenham Hotspur where he spent the bulk of his career in England.

It was in North London where the midfielder made 86 first team appearances in a two-and-a-half year spell with the Whites.

With first team opportunities set to be limited going into the 2011-12 season, Palacios completed a permanent move to Stoke City alongside teammate Peter Crouch.

It was with the Potters that the Honduran midfielder spent three years of his career before being released at the end of his contract in 2014.

Upon leaving the club Palacios spent time in the MLS with Miami FC, before joining former club Olimpia and spending a short time with Spanish side Real Sociedad.

He then retired from playing in 2019 when he started a career as a football agent.
