‘What is this job?’ – Hull City fans react to club’s update

Hull City have confirmed a new member of the backroom staff at the KCOM Stadium, with Oleg Yarovinsky assuming the role of Head of Club Strategy at the Humberside outfit.

The Tigers confirmed via their official website that the Russian, who worked alongside manager Leonid Slutsky as Sporting Director at CSKA Moscow, had finally joined the club after work permit issues had held up his switch to England in the summer.

35-year-old Yarovinsky has excellent experience in running matters behind the scenes in football, and spent four years with Russian giants CSKA as the club regularly competed in Europe and for the Russian title.

The move is a further step towards Slutsky completing his overhaul of the club since his summer arrival, and fans will hope his compatriot can have a positive effect on the Humber in the coming months and years.

Fans took to Twitter to have their say on the appointment, with one or two extremely dumbfounded by Yarovinsky’s confusing job title…
