‘What is this guy on about?’, ‘Love that’ – These Watford fans react to brutally honest player comments

Watford are now three without a win in the Championship after they were beaten by Barnsley at Oakwell yesterday.
A remarkable Alex Mowatt strike was enough to separate the sides but Hornets defender Ben Wilmot felt he was at fault, as he took the blame for the loss.

The centre-back also missed a chance to grab an equaliser, with his header from a corner bouncing up and over the bar, something else he reflected on in his brutally honest post-match interview.
Wilmot was brought back into the XI for the game in Yorkshire but he had been a regular in the early part of the season under Vladimir Ivic.
Despite his honest assessment, many fans felt the youngster was far too harsh on himself, particularly as the whole team had struggled in what was a very uninspiring team display.
Here we look at some of the responses from the support to Wilmot’s comments…
No it's not your fault. It's a team game. 11-11 for 90 minutes. All of you need to take responsibility for the unacceptable performances. Also Ivic needs to take a look in the mirror. 5 at the back against team we should breeze by "on paper" is just negative, seems scared almost

what is this guy on about no ones saying it’s his fault but the claim he’s good w his feet is a myth

Harsh on himself. Was solid today I thought, but if he improves no complaints
