Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder has already started to stamp his own authority on the club's squad during the current transfer window.

The Boro boss opted to bolster his attacking options by swooping for Aaron Connolly earlier this week whilst he also recently revealed that the club were in talks with Neil Taylor over the possibility of extending his stay at the Riverside Stadium.

One of the players who is currently facing an uncertain future at Middlesbrough is Uche Ikpeazu.

The forward, who has made 20 appearances for Boro in the Championship this season, is believed to be on Wycombe Wanderers' radar.

Here, we have decided to take a look at Ikpeazu's situation at the club amid rumours linking him to a potential move to Adams Park...

As revealed by Football League World in November, Wycombe are currently keeping tabs on Ikpeazu as they eye a potential reunion with their former striker.

The forward scored six goals and provide four assists for the Chairboys in the Championship last season before sealing a move to Boro for an undisclosed fee.

Ikpeazu has been unable to replicate the relative amount of success that he achieved at Wycombe in a Middlesbrough shirt as he has only managed to find the back of the net on two occasions during the current campaign.

Having been used exclusively as a substitute by Boro since Wilder's arrival, Ikpeazu is now likely to fall further down the pecking order at the club due to the presence of Connolly who recently made the switch to Teesside from Brighton & Hove Albion.

A recent report from the Daily Express has suggested that Middlesbrough are now in advanced talks with Arsenal over a loan move for Folarin Balogun.

Providing that Wilder is able to seal a deal for the Gunners forward, it wouldn't be at all surprising if he lets Ikpeazu move on to pastures new between now and the end of the January window.

Middlesbrough could recuperate a reasonable amount of money for the forward due to the fact that his contract is not set to expire until 2024 whilst Ikpeazu may benefit from moving to a club who are willing to start him on a regular basis.
