Rajiv van La Parra is a player that Huddersfield Town supporters will remember fondly, after the winger played a key role in their promotion-winning season back in 2017.
The Dutchman chipped in with two goals and four assists in 46 appearances for the Terriers, as they went on to beat Reading in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Van La Parra spent a season out on loan with Middlesbrough, before leaving Huddersfield Town in 2019. He then moved to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, but struggled for consistent game time with them.
His brief spell with Belgrade was cut short earlier this year, which saw the winger become a free-agent ahead of the 2020/21 league campaign.
Van La Parra reportedly wasn’t short of offers from Championship clubs either, with the likes of Reading, QPR and Swansea City all keen on striking a deal to land his signature this term.

But their interest was first reported by Dutch media outlet VI almost three weeks ago, and no move is yet to materialise or progress for any of the clubs reportedly keen on signing him.
Reading are flying high at the top of the second-tier standings, whilst Swansea City are sat second in the Championship table. QPR are currently positioned 16th in the Championship after their opening ten matches of the season, and will be keen to build on a recent win over Derby County in midweek.
But any potential move for Van La Parra has gone quiet in recent weeks, which might come as a surprise, as he’s a player that has shown that he can perform to a high standard in the Championship earlier in his career.
It remains to be seen where his future lies at this moment in time, and it’ll be interesting to see whether any of the interest clubs will reignite their interest in signing the midfielder as we head towards the upcoming international break.
