AFC Wimbledon striker Joe Pigott would appear to be a wanted man at the moment with several Championship sides taking a closer look at the League One forward.

The forward has once again started the season well with six goals and four assists recorded in the Dons' first bunch of league games and it would seem as though that form has caught the eye of several sides in the division above them.

Indeed, according to a report from Teamtalk over the weekend, the 26-year-old has, at the very least, five names from the second tier looking at him.

Birmingham City, Swansea City, Huddersfield Town, Derby County and Bristol City are all reportedly keen on bringing him into their respective clubs in the near future, whilst Reading were keen back in the summer but it remains to be seen if they still are.

A lot of these sides could do with a new forward at the moment, too.

Birmingham are struggling for goals with Scott Hogan going through a rough patch, whilst Huddersfield saw Karlan Grant leave towards the end of the last window and Derby never really replaced Chris Martin who joined Bristol City.

There could be quite the fight on for his signature, then, and the Dons will hope that, if they cannot manage to keep hold of him, they can at least spark a bit of a bidding war and get as much as possible for him.

A player that has come from non-league, the Championship could well soon be the next step on his journey.
