Djed Spence has become arguably one of, if not the most, hot property in the Championship and the EFL over the course of the season.

After joining Nottingham Forest on loan this campaign, the player has thrived. He's quickly established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet under Steve Cooper and with 27 games this year so far, he has looked electric.

Forest would no doubt like to bring him back in on a permanent basis when his deal expires. Middlesbrough too, his parent club, would most likely like to keep hold of him when he returns to the Riverside Stadium.

The reality though is that it probably won't happen because there are now a number of top-level sides all chasing his signature. His performances in the second tier haven't gone unnoticed and it means that there are a number of clubs keeping tabs on the situation.

Over the course of the winter window, it seemed as though more and more clubs were lining up to try and agree a deal for him. Even with the window now shut, there are still regular updates on interest. So what is the latest with him?

The biggest new report to emerge comes from Sky Sports Germany and it claims Bayern Munich have taken a firm interest in trying to sign the youngster come the summer. Despite having a wealth of talent already at the club, it looks as though they want to add some more young talent to their squad and are eyeing Spence.

It also states that talks could be held over a potential deal as soon as the end of March - so it looks like Bayern are already doing their due diligence and working hard to try and steal a march on his signing. It won't be easy for them though.

Man City also hold a bit of an interest according to that same report and there are teams across Europe who have recognised his potential and might try and steal him away from Boro in the summer.

Another English team that could also make a serious bid for the player in summer is Tottenham, as reported by Football League World exclusive sources. They're tailing the Middlesbrough man with a view to a deal in summer but they actually prefer a move for Isaiah Jones. While that doesn't mean they won't move for Spence, it should mean that they won't scramble too much to try and do business if Bayern, or another side, lodge an official bid.

With Spence in their ranks then, it looks like it could be a busy off-season for Middlesbrough - and also looks less and less likely that they will be able to hold onto the young talent.
