The subject of Bright Osayi-Samuel's future is a particularly sore subject around West London.

Queens Park Rangers signed the player in the summer of 2017 as he looked to build his reputation as one of the most exciting young players in the EFL.

He's certainly done that.

Over the three years since then Osayi-Samuel has established himself as a star player for QPR and has taken on the unofficial role of being the club's talisman after Eberechi Eze's move to Crystal Palace over the summer.

But now his future with the club is heavily in question.

The 22-year-old is old of contract next summer which means that the Hoops are at risk of losing him for nothing.

The winger can discuss terms with clubs outside of England with regards to signing a pre-contract agreement - something which will be a real concern for Mark Warburton's side.

Warburton revealed that the club are in talks with Osayi-Samuel, but with significant interest from both Celtic and Rangers it remains to be seen whether a new deal will be signed.

Based on how late in the day it is, it seems that a decision has already been made on his future.

For QPR they need to make a big decision.

If Osayi-Samuel looks unlikely to sign a new deal then it's in their best interests to try and recoup a fee for the player in the January transfer window.

He's too valuable to lose for nothing and while losing their best player mid-season would be a blow it would be a big statement to miss out on a substantial fee to keep hold of him for a few more months.
