Stoke City will be determined to reach new heights in the Championship next season after experiencing an inconsistent 2021/22 campaign.

The Potters eventually meandered their way to a 14th place finish in the second-tier standings after initially making a relatively encouraging start to the term under the guidance of manager Michael O'Neill.

In order to have the best chance of moving forward as a club later this year, Stoke will need to get their recruitment spot-on during the current transfer window.

The Potters may also have to make some decisions regarding the futures of existing members of their squad between now and the start of the new term.

Here, we have decided to take a look at the latest transfer news and gossip at Stoke...

Stoke secure the services of Aden Flint

Stoke bolstered their squad yesterday by securing the services of Aden Flint on a one-year deal.

As confirmed by the club's official website, Flint is set to link up with his new team-mates on July 1st after his contract at Cardiff City expires.

During his time with the Bluebirds, the defender managed to score 11 goals for the club in 93 appearances in all competitions.

Potters linked with move for Josh Edwards

According to Football Insider, Stoke City are believed to be interested in signing Dunfermline Athletic defender Josh Edwards this summer.

It is understood that the Scottish outfit could be willing to part ways with Edwards if they receive a fee of around £100,000 for the 22-year-old.

Stoke could face competition for the defender's signature from Preston North End who have also been touted as potential suitors.

Edwards made 37 league appearances for Dunfermline last season as the club were relegated from the Scottish Championship.

Will Vaulks emerges as a target for Stoke

Another player who has recently been linked with a move to Stoke City is Will Vaulks.

According to a report from The Star, the Potters are interested in making a move for the midfielder who is set to become a free-agent when his contract at Cardiff City reaches a crescendo later this month.

Sheffield Wednesday, Luton Town and Queens Park Rangers are also believed to be in the hunt for the midfielder's signature.

Vaulks scored two goals and provided two assists in the 36 league appearances that he made for Cardiff last season.
