Portsmouth could have a busy off-season this summer, with the League One outfit desperate to try and seal a spot back in the Championship.

Danny Cowley took his charges into the top half of the third tier last season but couldn't quite get them into the play-off spots. He'll be eager to do so next time out and that could mean a squad reshuffle during the transfer window.

Even though the summer has only just begun and the transfer window itself has only just opened its doors, there are already plenty of players that have been linked with moves both to and out of Fratton Park.

With that in mind then, here are some of the latest bits of transfer news around the club.

Pompey striker search leads to Kion Etete

Portsmouth want another forward this summer and it looks like their latest potential striking target could be Kion Etete, who currently plies his trade for Tottenham.

The young forward might be available on either a loan or permanent transfer this summer - and considering his age and level of experience already, it could be a shrewd move from the Fratton Park outfit.

Etete has already spent time on loan at both Northampton and Cheltenham and with three goals per spell, has already shown he can score goals at a third and fourth tier level.

Now, it appears as though Danny Cowley fancies a move for the player to try and spearhead their attack next season.

Ronan Curtis attracting plenty of interest

Portsmouth though could see one attacker through the door and one out, with Ronan Curtis having plenty of teams chasing after his signature according to the Daily Record.

The forward has been excellent for Pompey and bagged eight goals and seven assists in the league for them last time out - and managed double figures for his goal tally in every campaign prior to that for them.

Now, it looks like there are plenty of teams queueing up for him again, with Hibs amongst several EFL sides chasing after the player.

Danny Cowley then may face a battle to keep hold of him this summer - and it would be a blow for the club if they were to lose the 26-year-old.

Haji Mnoga out on loan deal

Another potential outgoing for Portsmouth this summer could be Haji Mnoga, although it would be a short-term deal rather than a permanent one.

The youngster has already been out to the National League on loan in two separate spells but it looks like he could be set for a third ahead of the new campaign.

That's because The News is reporting that the 20-year-old is a wanted man yet again, with plenty of sides in that division clearly recognising his potential and wanting to try and secure a deal for the player.

Mnoga then might not get a chance at Pompey again next term but it looks like the regular first-team football could come again for him from elsewhere if the player wants it.
