Nottingham Forest are preparing for life in the Premier League after ending their 23-year wait for top flight football via a Championship play-off final win at Wembley.

Steve Cooper and Dane Murphy have some work to do ahead of the start of the 2022/23 campaign, however, as the Reds squad needs to be strengthened to ensure it can cope with the challenges of England's top tier.

With that in mind, we've highlighted all the latest transfer news and gossip at Forest...

Djed Spence and the search for his replacement

According to 90min, Tottenham are set to win the race for right wing-back Djed Spence and sign him for around £20 million.

That's a blow for Forest but they've already identified a number of candidates to replace him.

Liverpool's Neco Williams is among them, with 90min reporting the Reds and Fulham are keen on the £15 million-rated player.

The Mirror has reported that Arsenal's Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another and the Gunners are open to letting him leave.

There is also Manchester City full-back Issa Kabore, who Nottinghamshire Live claim is being tracked with a view to a loan move.

Joe Rodon

It appears Cooper could look to strengthen at centre-back as well, with journalist Ekrem Konur reporting that Tottenham's Joe Rodon is on their radar.

The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact under Antonio Conte and now has Forest, Fulham and Wolves reportedly in pursuit.

Keinan Davis

Keinan Davis played a vital role in the Reds' successful promotion push last season and The Athletic has indicated that they are leading the race to sign him this summer.

Watford are also said to be keen on the forward, who has been valued at around £15 million in previous reports.

James Garner

Another 2021/22 loan signing that become a key player, James Garner is a player that supporters would love to see back at the City Ground next season.

As per Football Transfers, the midfielder is likely to be loaned back to the Reds this summer but Erik ten Hag wants to run the rule over him first.

Garner himself has admitted he's not sure yet where he wants to play his football next season but has made it clear he's keen to impress the new Manchester United boss.

Brice Samba

Ligue 1 side Nantes have submitted a bid for Forest keeper Brice Samba, according to Football Insider.

Samba played an important role in the Reds' promotion but rejected a new contract offer from the East Midlands club earlier this summer and has entered the final year of his deal.

Joe Rothwell

Forest were moving toward the signing of Joe Rothwell earlier this month but now look set to be beaten to it by Bournemouth.

That's according to Football Insider, who report that the Cherries have moved ahead of them in the race for the out-of-contract Blackburn Rovers midfielder.
