Hull City will be hoping for a more promising season ahead following their 19th place finish in the Championship.

Shota Arveladze’s side will be preparing for an attempt to climb the second division table this campaign now that the club has re-established itself at this level.

New ownership under Acun Ilicali also has signs of optimism as the Turkish businessman looks to invest in the first team squad.

Here is the latest transfer news and gossip at the MKM Stadium…

Michael Smith interest

Hull are set to compete for the signing of Smith from Rotherham United this summer.

The forward has attracted interest from the likes of the Tigers, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City.

Smith scored 19 goals and earned six assists for Paul Warne’s side last season as they earned promotion to the second tier.

But it now appears that he could be set to depart the club this summer, with Hull competing to earn his signature.

Keane Lewis-Potter speaks on his future

The exciting forward’s future remains in doubt at Hull, with the 21-year old attracting the attention of multiple Premier League clubs.

However, he has claimed that he is focused on taking a break from football now that the season is finally set to conclude.

Lewis-Potter has been on international duty with the England U21 side, debuting in a comfortable 5-0 win over Kosovo.

Following the game, the youngster refused to answer any questions on his future with Hull and instead focused on taking some time off ahead of pre-season beginning in just a few weeks.

Can you remember how much Hull City paid for these 22 summer signings?

How much did the club pay for Greg Docherty?

“I’ve played every single minute for Hull this season and enjoyed every minute of it,” said Lewis-Potter via Hull Live

“Now I’ve been with England, it’s about preparing for these games and getting through them. Right now, we’ve got one more game left and we want to finish that strongly.

“After that I just want to get my legs up, really. It’s been a long old season and I think I deserve a bit of a rest.”

Matt Ingram contract talks

Hull are continuing to persist with contract discussions with Ingram despite interest from the likes of Luton Town and Preston North End.

The goalkeeper arrived from the Hatters in 2019, but could yet make his return to Kenilworth Road this summer, after joining the Hatters on an emergency loan late last season.

But the Tigers are hoping they can secure his future at the MKM Stadium following the departure of Chelsea loanee Nathan Baxter.

Luton and Preston are also in need of a goalkeeper for the new season, so his future remains unclear at this stage.
