Tottenham player Kion Etete looks like he could be about to make a transfer move from the Premier League into the Championship this summer.

The youngster plays his football mainly for the Spurs reserve team, with most of his competitive action coming in loan spells throughout the EFL. Now, he could be set to seal a deal to join Cardiff.

With the Bluebirds looking to push on up the second tier table, it appears they have settled on Etete as an option for them this window.

So what's the latest over a potential deal for the player and will he be joining Cardiff?

It appears the player will certainly end up moving to the Welsh outfit, with BBC Sport reporting that a fee has been agreed between the clubs and that a permanent transfer could soon be done for Etete.

Whilst the player has yet to actually feature in the Tottenham first-team in the league, it looks like he has still fetched a decent fee for the London club, with Cardiff reportedly paying £500,000 to bring him to the club.

He's set to have a medical with Steve Morison's side and then will seal a switch from Spurs to Cardiff.

He's never played in the Championship yet though, with most of his gametime coming in Leagues One and Two. He's been with Cheltenham and played in 13 third tier games with five goal contributions and has also been on loan with Notts County and Northampton.

Playing in League Two, he managed a further 22 games with four goal contributions - and Cardiff will be hoping for more from him this season.
