Leeds United are the latest team to be linked with a move for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr.

The Hornets made a winning start to the Championship season against Sheffield United on Monday evening with Sarr setting up Joao Pedro's winner but his future remains uncertain following their Premier League relegation in 2021/22.

French outlet Foot Mercato has reported that the 24-year-old is on Leeds' transfer radar as a potential replacement for Raphinha and that the Yorkshire club have now entered the race for him.

Watford are said to value the Senegal international, who still has two years left on his contract at Vicarage Road and is on reported wages of £63,077 a week, at €35 million (£29.2m).

However, previous reports from abroad have indicated that there is a belief among some of the other clubs in pursuit of Sarr that the Hornets will drop their asking price for him as the end of the transfer window approaches.

That looks to be in line with the Daily Express' claims in late July that the Vicarage Road outfit are determined to cash in this summer.

Rob Edwards has made it clear that while the attacker remains a Watford player and is still showing commitment, he will not shy away from playing him as the former Forest Green Rovers boss looks to lead his new club back to the Premier League.

A host of teams have been linked with offering the in-demand player a route back to the top flight this summer.

In July, talkSPORT reported West Ham United were keen on both Sarr and Hornets teammate Emmanuel Dennis but it is understood they may now have cooled their interest in the latter after signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.

Newcastle United are another club that are reportedly keen on Sarr and Dennis as they search for a new wide forward and striker ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign (90min).
