There has inevitably been a great deal of speculation about the future of Ben Brereton-Diaz at Blackburn Rovers during the summer transfer window.

Following his outstanding season that saw him play a key role in Rovers' push for promotion from the Championship, and his emergence on the international scene with Chile, the striker is certainly an appealing target for a number of clubs.

Indeed, Premier League duo Leeds United and West Ham are among those to have been heavily credited with an interest in the 23-year-old in recent times.

However, as the focus on the future of Brereton-Diaz continues to increase, so is the level of interest in the striker from elsewhere.

As exclusively revealed by Football League World, another Premier League side have now enquired about the availability of the striker.

It is understood that it is Wolves who are now taking an interest in Brereton-Diaz, as they look to boost their attacking options following the injury suffered by Raul Jimenez in pre-season.

Meanwhile, La Liga side Sevilla are also thought to have retained their interest in a deal for the striker, but would prefer to move for him next summer, having been put off by the striker's price tag.

Rovers triggered a 12-month extension in Brereton-Diaz's contract earlier this summer, to ensure he would not leave the club for free during the current transfer window.

However, that does mean that unless a new contract to extend his stay at Ewood Park was to be agreed, the current market could be Blackburn's last chance to receive a fee for the striker.

In the mean time, head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson has already confirmed that Brereton-Diaz will continue to play while he is on the books at Blackburn, and the Chilean international did indeed play the full 90 minutes as Rovers opened their Championship campaign with a 1-0 win over QPR on Saturday.
