Long before Pascal Chimbonda turned up at Loftus Road, he'd previously been an unused substitute in a World Cup final.

The right-back was on the bench was France's 2006 penalty shoot-out defeat to Italy, although he's more remembered for his spells with Wigan and Tottenham rather than any of his brief international exploits.

But in January 2011, the Frenchman joined Queens Park Rangers on a short-term deal, although his time in West London was so brief, it's been almost forgotten about.

Whilst Neil Warnock's Rangers side romped to the Championship title and made their long-awaited return to the Premier League, Chimbonda made just three substitute appearances, totting up just 73 minutes in total.

Following his departure from QPR, the defender took a step down the EFL ladder, spending a season with League One outfit Doncaster Rovers, where he'd feature far more regularly than when at Loftus Road.

Chimbonda's career then went down a rather bizarre route, moving to Non League outfit Market Drayton Town before returning to the Football League with Carlisle , once more on a short-term deal in October 2013.

Despite being in his mid-3os, the ex-Tottenham full-back continuing playing - this time signing for French Ligue 2 outfit AC Arles-Avignon before once again returning to Non League with both Washington and then Ashton Town.

At the age of 41, Chimbonda hasn't played professionally for almost six years, but is still very much involved in the beautiful game, and has since opened up his own U23 Football Academy, called PC39 Academy, and is a UEFA Licence A coach.
