Following two loan spells at The Den, midfielder Liam Trotter finally put pen to paper on a permanent Millwall contract in June 2010, joining from Ipswich Town.

Trotter's first loan saw him feature on just three occasions, although his second would see him make 23 appearances - with the last of those coming in the League One play-off final victory over Swindon, as the Lions won promotion back to the Championship.

His first full campaign as a Millwall player was his best in terms of goalscoring - netting eight times in 37 games, including four in his first six, and then the second in a win over Leeds in April.

By the start of the 2011-12 season, Trotter was a regular in the heart of the Lions midfield, striking up a partnership with Jimmy Abdou, and would enjoy another successful year - which included a memorable strike in a defeat at West Ham.

Having remained at The Den following interest from the Premier League, Trotter kept up his tag as a goalscoring midfielder, adding a further six goals in the 2012-13 campaign, although the next season he was plagued with injuries and was loaned to Bolton January.

Less than five months later, that deal became permanent with the Lancashire outfit, but Trotter's time with Bolton was overshadowed by injuries - featuring just 73 times in over three years, before he returned to London with AFC Wimbledon in July 2017.

Trotter was a regular with the Dons during his first season under Neal Ardley, playing 45 matches in total, which was the most productive of his professional career.

However, the departure of Ardley was the beginning of the end of the midfielder's time at Wimbledon - eventually departing in February 2019 following a lack of chances under the new boss.

Trotter would then make his most surprising move of his career, joining USL Championship outfit Orange County SC, although after just one season in the States, he was back in England, linking up with former Millwall defender Alan Dunne at Bromley.

He's since made five appearances for the Non League outfit - with the most recent of those coming in Bromley's FA Cup first-round defeat to Yeovil Town last Saturday.
