Luton Town are currently third in the Championship, holding a four-point advantage over Middlesbrough in seventh.

Nathan Jones' side have been in terrific form in 2022 and have put in some excellent performances in recent weeks, despite having some integral first-teamers out of action.

The Hatters have eight massive games left to play this season and will be hoping to continue on their upward trajectory when they host Millwall a week tomorrow.

Here, we take a look at the latest pieces of news regarding Luton during this international break...

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu set for DR Congo games

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu haș been called up by DR Congo ahead of their World Cup Qualifying matches against Morocco.

His national side play today at home, before the second leg in Morocco will come on Tuesday, with the winners qualifying for the World Cup.

Given that the match is Tuesday, Ruddock Mpanzu could be ready for a return for Luton's clash with Millwall on Saturday.

Ed McJannet plays for Ireland U19s

Luton youngster Ed McJannet played the full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in a 3-1 defeat to England on Wednesday evening.

Played at Walsall's Banks' Stadium, Dane Scarlett opened the scoring for the hosts, before James Abankwah levelled seven minutes before half time.

Carney Chuckwuemeka then netted a brace to earn a victory for his England side in a well-fought contest in the Midlands.

Dan Potts says Luton are third for a reason

Playing a role in the fringes for much of this campaign, Dan Potts has stepped up admirably when called upon.

The 27-year-old, who has almost always been deployed as a left-back throughout his Luton career, has operated as a left centre-back in the absence of Kal Naismith and is doing a great job.

Possessing composure when in possession and defensive intelligence, Potts has been a vital component in a rather makeshift backline for the Hatters this season.

Speaking to Luton Today about Luton's third place position, Potts said: “It’s nice, it’s a strange one, but we’re there for a reason.

“Everyone’s in their positions in the league, there’s 38 games played now, we’re in that position for a reason.

“There’s no luck, there’s no hard luck stories, we’re there on merit, let’s see where we can go, as you deserve to be where you are.”
