Championship outfit Huddersfield Town will be eager to regroup during the international break after going on a winless run of four games, not the sort of form that they would have wanted to have endured in their quest for promotion.

Going unbeaten in the league for over three months prior to their defeat against Millwall, they can perhaps be forgiven for this slip-up against Gary Rowett's men with the Lions also fighting tooth and nail for a play-off spot in the latter stages of this campaign.

And although they came up against a very capable opponent in AFC Bournemouth last weekend, a side desperate to make amends after a poor performance against Reading, the fact they suffered a 3-0 home defeat must have been demoralising for them.

Not only this - but they are also out of the FA Cup now after losing 2-1 to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground earlier this month - initially taking the lead through Tom Lees but conceding twice later on in the opening 45 to seal their exit from the competition.

This will be a particular disappointment for them after getting past Premier League outfit Burnley earlier this year - but this international break probably comes at the right time for them with the chance to recharge after a difficult period.

There are still some news bites you need to know about the Terriers despite this break - and we have listed some of these below.

Hoyle talks ongoing

Talks are ongoing in terms of a potential takeover of Huddersfield with Dean Hoyle keen to regain his old stake in the club and take over as sole owner from current majority shareholder Phil Hodgkinson.

That latest update was provided by Yorkshire Live, with the Daily Mail reporting earlier this month that Hoyle needed to inject more money into the club last year to prevent them from entering administration.

This was a real possibility when 11 of Hodgkinson's businesses went into administration back in November and although the club acted to reassure fans, that report wouldn't have given fans confidence in their current majority shareholder for the long term.

Hoyle wants long-term stability and doesn't intend on selling the club quickly, so it will be interesting to see when he does finally pass on the reins if he does retake control at the John Smith's Stadium.

Bromby makes bold prediction on Colwill

The Terriers' head of football operations Leigh Bromby believes Levi Colwill is the most talented player he has ever worked with despite previously seeing the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Emile Smith-Rowe come through the door in recent goals, as he spoke to Goal.

This heavy praise didn't stop there though, saying he thinks the centre-back will not only play for his parent club Chelsea in the future, but will also represent his national team England.

Speaking about the teenager, Bromby said: "He has been excellent and is not only a credit to himself but Chelsea, with the way they work with players and prepare them. The way he has fit into the dressing room has been unbelievable.

"The players and staff really like him and love working with him. He's looking to improve and working to get better. Talent-wise, for his age, he is the best I've seen when I've either been playing or coaching.

"The chances, for me, are so high that he will go back and play for Chelsea and England."

The 19-year-old has appeared in 24 league games this season, recording two goals and one assist in the process but mainly stealing the headlines for his defensive contributions.

Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls believes his side's success this season may be partly down to their focus on the short term, making this revelation on the club's YouTube channel.

The Terriers have endured a much better season than they did last term, putting themselves in contention for a return to the Premier League despite being threatened by the prospect of relegation last season.

This transformation has to be partly down to their recruitment in the summer, bringing in several free agents including Matty Pearson that have proven to be successful with their loanees also performing well.

The emergence of Sorba Thomas has also been a real game-changer, but Nicholls singled out their focus on the short term as a major positive as he said (via Yorkshire Live): "I think that could be a key factor why we’ve done so well this year.

"I think the whole squad has sort of stuck to that mentality, and I think a lot of boys that walked into the dressing room this year do stick to it and already had that sort of mentality."
