Carlos Edwards spent five years with Ipswich Town from 2009 to 2014.

The Trinidad and Tobago native featured over 170 times for the Tractor Boys as they remained a constant of the Championship during this period.

The team finished 15th, 13th, 15th, 14th and 9th in his five seasons at Portman Road, having arrived from Sunderland in the summer transfer window of 2009.

The now 44-year old arrived as part of a joint deal with the Black Cats that also saw Grant Leadbitter join from the Stadium of Light.

The pair had played under Roy Keane with Sunderland and would feature under the Irishman again once he took charge of Ipswich.

A loan move to Millwall in March of 2014 signalled the beginning of the end of Edwards’ time with the club.

The versatile player eventually joined the Lions on a permanent basis at the end of that season, ending his five year stay with Ipswich.

Edwards remained in English football for two more years before departing Millwall for Ma Pau Stars in his native country.

The former Ipswich man moved around the Trinidad and Tobago league, also signing for Central FC.

However, he made his return to English football with a move to Woodbridge Town in 2017.

A three year stint with the non-league outfit ended when Edwards signed for Bury Town in 2020.

While he still plays for Bury Town in his spare time, the former winger has also picked up a role with Ipswich where he currently works as a coach.

He is a part-time coach with the League One club as they look to chase for promotion back to the second tier this season.

Edwards has been back with the club since 2018, but it remains unclear what kind of role he takes up as part of Kieran McKenna’s backroom team.
