Leeds United made a swift decision last week by appointing Paul Heckingbottom as Thomas Christiansen’s replacement at Elland Road, less than 48 hours following the Dane’s departure.

Heckingbottom has been at Elland Road a week now, overseeing his first Sky Bet Championship fixture in-charge, which resulted in a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in Saturday’s Yorkshire derby at Bramall Lane.

Andrea Radrizzani moved quickly to get Heckingbottom in at Elland Road, but reports in the Spanish media have seen Victor Sanchez confirm he was contacted about the vacancy at Elland Road recently.

The former Deportivo La Coruna and Real Betis manager is currently out of work, but has experience across Europe, including in La Liga.

Victor built up a strong reputation during his playing days, featuring for Real Madrid and Deportivo, even coming up against Leeds in the Champions League with the latter.

Following the 41-year-old’s comments on the Leeds job, here is how the club’s supporters reacted…
