Queens Park Rangers are gearing up for a busy old summer.

This season has been a relative success for the West London side who are firmly on track to secure a top half finish after what looked likely to be a season of real struggle.

With players such as Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel moving on over the last 12 months it seemed that the Hoops had a battle on their hands to steer clear of the relegation battle but a number of shrewd additions in the January transfer window have given the club a much-needed boost.

One of those players was Charlie Austin.

The striker was already a popular figure at Loftus Road following a hugely successful spell with the club earlier in his career, meaning that his arrival was met with great fanfare.

Since joining the club on loan from West Brom Austin has certainly impressed in front of goal after scoring five goals in 15 appearances - a run of form that has played a big role in helping the club to move up the table.

With Championship football all-but confirmed it means that attention will now turn to the summer.

QPR will surely be looking to bring in attacking reinforcements and a move for Charlie Austin will surely be seen by many as the first choice.

The 31-year-old is currently registered with West Brom but with his contract due to expire this summer it means that the striker will have his pick of the clubs as he looks towards the next step in his career.

Austin is bound to attract some lucrative offers from England and abroad, and so it'll be interesting to see where his future does lie.

But given his affinity for Queens Park Rangers and the huge impact that he's had both on and off the pitch for the club since signing in January, there's every chance that QPR will be near the front of the queue to sign him permanently.
