Dion Pereira has been an exciting prospect at Luton Town for a while now, with the 23-year-old yet to consistently play for the Championship club.

Now 23, it remains to be seen what the immediate future of the young winger might be, following a successful loan spell with Bradford City.

Impressing the Bradford faithful with starring displays, Pereira was a constant threat on both flanks for the Yorkshire club during the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.

Returning to the Championship club at the end of the season, Nathan Jones will now be assessing his situation going into the summer and the term.

There is certainly scope for Pereira to remain at Kenilworth Road and play a part next season, with the young winger proving to be at least a level above the fourth-tier during his time with Bradford.

However, it would be difficult to pinpoint exactly where he would fit in, considering Jones typically deployed a 5-2-1-2 formation last time out, with the attacking midfield position perhaps the best fit for Pereira.

But, Luton have proven to approach their seasons in the Championship differently since their return to the second-tier in 2019, meaning Jones could look to change the system once more, something that could benefit the likes of Pereira, Fred Onyedinma and Carlos Mendes Gomes.

On the flip side of things, Luton could listen to offers for the young winger this summer, with his stint at Bradford likely to regenerate interest.

Equally, a further loan stint to bridge the gap from League Two to the top end of the Championship may also be deemed as the next best step for Pereira's development.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Pereira's immediate future at the Bedfordshire club, with his progress at Bradford and within the Championship club's development squad an indication that he could step up to the second tier and play a part next year.

If he is not part of Jones' plans, then it would be no shock to see lots of interest in the young winger.
