Young Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn has been added to the senior England squad by manager Gareth Southgate for Tuesday’s friendly with Brazil at Wembley, and took to Twitter to celebrate the shock news.

The Manchester City loanee has been in good form since joining the Canaries on a season-long loan in the summer, but news of his call-up will surely come as a surprise to the 21-year-old.

Gunn is added to the squad in the wake of an injury to Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, who was forced to withdraw from the squad with a broken finger.

Southgate has used the international break to experiment with his side, with a number of uncapped faces provided with the opportunity to impress ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

It is unlikely Gunn will start the match, with Everton's Jordan Pickford set to get the nod, but he could see minutes in the second half as Southgate’s bloods in new talent.

Fans of Norwich and Manchester City took to Twitter to praise and congratulate the young star for his shock call-up…
