Huddersfield Town are currently looking to buy into Carlos Corberan's methods, with faith placed in the Spaniard to get the Terriers playing some slick football and challenging back towards the top-six.

It's a work in progress at the John Smith's Stadium and Corberan is going to need time to get things right. The summer transfer window wasn't exactly helpful and a vicious schedule means that fixtures are coming at Huddersfield thick and fast.

Added pressure in West Yorkshire perhaps comes from the fact that between 2017 and 2019, Huddersfield were a Premier League side living the dream in England's top-flight.

There, they were ambitious in the transfer market, which brings us to look at their EIGHT most expensive signings of all-time and what they are up to now...

Sobhi cost Huddersfield over £5m when he arrived at the club in the summer of 2018. However, he made only four appearances from the bench for the Terriers and was shipped back on loan to Al Ahly.

He's currently in the Egyptian Premier League playing for Pyramids FC.

As per transfermarkt, Mooy cost Huddersfield over £8m when he signed permanently from Manchester City.

The midfielder was a major part in Huddersfield's promotion and Premier League journey, but he moved on in the summer of 2019 to Brighton and Hove Albion.

He's no longer in England, though, and is now playing for Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League. Mooy is also a regular on the international scene with Australia.

Ince was another Premier League signing at Stoke, costing a reported £8.19m.

He never really hit the heights expected of him in West Yorkshire and moved onto Stoke City in the summer of 2018.

The winger remains on the books at the bet365 Stadium and was actually an unused substitute as the Potters beat Huddersfield 4-3 on Saturday.

Costing a reported £9m, Diakhaby remains on the books with Huddersfield.

He started last night's goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers and is featuring regularly under Carlos Corberan after returning from a loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

Pritchard cost Huddersfield a reported fee of over £11m and is, again, another of the club's Premier League signings.

Like Diakhaby, he's still part of the squad at Huddersfield, but Corberan is without the midfielder's service as he overcomes an injury setback.

Mbenza is the third member of this list to still be on the books at Huddersfield. He cost a reported £11.25m when he signed permanently in 2019.

A loan spell with Amiens last season appeared to spell the end for the forward in West Yorkshire, but he's battled back and is one play particularly buying into what Corberan wants.

He's scored two goals and registered two assists so far this season.

Mounie cost a reported fee just under £12m and scored 19 goals across all competitions during his time at the John Smith's Stadium.

He left for a new challenge in the summer gone by and has made nine appearances in Ligue 1 for Stade Brest this season, scoring three times.

Kongolo cost Huddersfield Town a club-record fee when he signed.

Like Mounie, he moved on in the summer and signed for Fulham, who he spent time with on loan last season before injury.

The centre-back continues to recover from that injury and is yet to make a Premier League appearances for the Cottagers.
