Throughout the years, there have been plenty of players signed by Blackburn Rovers.

As is the case with any club, some have made more than an impact than others, but those that arrived for the biggest fees will likely be well remembered around Ewood Park, due to the high profile of their signings.

But what are some of Blackburn's big-money doing now that they have moved on from those deals?

Here, we take a look at how Rovers' eight biggest signings (based on their Transfermarkt value) are spending their time these days.

Joining from Norwich for a reported £6.75million, Sutton played a big role in helping Rovers win the Premier League during his first season at Ewood Park.

He spent five seasons at the club, scoring 59 goals in 161 outings before leaving for Chelsea in 1999, and subsequently playing for Celtic - winning nine major honours - Birmingham and Aston Villa, and having retired in in 2007, he has become a regular pundit for the BBC and BT, with his only managerial stint coming with Lincoln between 2009 and 2010.

Joining from Newcastle in summer 2005 for a reported £6.75million Bellamy's 17 goals in 32 appearances for Rovers saw him earn a move to Liverpool after just a single season at Ewood Park.

After just a year at Anfield, he moved onto West Ham, with spells with Manchester City, Cardiff, and another at Liverpool, before retiring in 2014, moving into coaching with the Bluebirds. In the summer of 2019, Bellamy linked up with former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht in Belgium, taking over as coach of their Under 21s side.

Joining Rovers from Derby for £7.16million, Dailly remained at the club until 2001, when he move onto West Ham, for whom he made almost 200 appearances.

Spells with Southampton, Rangers, Charlton and - more briefly - Portsmouth and Southend followed, and after retiring in 2012, the centre back has since begun a career as an athletics coach, while also appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports.

Joining from Rangers for a supposed £8.78million in August 2003, Ferguson lasted just 18 months at Rovers before returning to Ibrox in January 2005, where he remained 2009.

After that, he returned to England, representing Birmingham and Blackpool, also spending a brief loan spell with Fleetwood, before moving back north of the border with Clyde in 2014, taking over as there manager in 2014, remaining in that role until 2017, when he took up his current position at Kelty Hearts in the Lowland League, which he and his side won last season.

Rovers signed Rhodes from Huddersfield for a reported £9.09million in 2012 following their relegation to the Championship, and the Scot proved an inspired signing, scoring 85 goals in 169 appearances for the club.

But after moving to Middlesbrough in 2015, Rhodes failed to have a similar impact at The Riverside, and has increasingly struggled for game time since joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2017, although he did help Norwich to the Championship title during a loan spell at Carrow Road in the 2018/19 campaign.

Joining from Southampton in 1998 for a reported £10.13million, Davies scored just twice for the club as they were relegated from the Premier League, at which point the striker return to St Mary's.

Following four years on the south coast, Davies moved to Bolton in 2003, and after spending the next ten years with the club, he brought his career to an end with a two-year spell at Preston. Following his retirement, Davies spent time as manager of National League North side Southport between 2017 and 2018, and it was recently revealed he is helping his firs club, Chesterfield, in their search for a new manager.

Joining for £10.23million to add some extra firepower to Rovers' lineup following their return to the Premier League in 2001, Grabbi failed to make much of the desired impact at Ewood Park.

After scoring just twice in 30 league appearances, Grabbi returned to his native Italy in 2004, spending the rest of his career in the Italian lower leagues before retiring in 2008. Having been caught in the Italian ownership scandal that emerged in 2006 as a victim, Grabbi, who started his career at Juventus, now coaches the Italian champions' Under 15s side.

Cole joined Rovers from Manchester United midway through the 2001/02 season, and after scoring the winner in that season's League Cup final, and helping them avoid relegation that campaign, the striker scored a total of 37 goals in exactly 100 appearances for the club.

Leaving in 2004, the former England international played for seven more clubs - including Fulham, Manchester City, and Portsmouth - before retiring in 2008. Having gone into coaching, Cole's most recent role was as assistant to Sol Campbell at Southend, a position he left alongside his former England teammate this summer.
