Sunderland supporters have shown their support for Duncan Watmore after his generation contribution.

The winger has struggled with injuries during his time at the Stadium Of Light but he's certainly shown that he's a player who is proud of the community that he represents.

Supporters' website Roker Report have set up a GoFundMe page to encourage people to donate towards Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen and the Sunderland Foodbank over the festive period.

At the time of writing, fans had raised a staggering £8400 as supporters looked to support the local cause.

Alongside the funds raised, Watmore and his family contributed an additional £1000 to the cause - a gesture which will no doubt go down well around the Stadium Of Light.

Sunderland Food Bank also tweeted their thanks, saying: "We're blown away by everyone's kindness and generosity.

“Thank you so much to everyone who donated. You're helping to make a massive difference to help local people in crisis.” Some supporters were full of praise for the Sunderland star and took to social media to praise his contribution.
