EFL clubs are coming up with new ways to keep their supporters entertained during the current suspension of the professional game in England.
The game is currently suspended until the 30th of April due to the current health pandemic that is sweeping the globe, the break is to ensure the safety of staff, players and supporters of all the clubs in the Premier League and the EFL.
This enforced break has forced the social media managers of some of the leading EFL clubs to think outside the box when it comes to putting out content for their supporters. Many clubs have turned to ‘Connect4’ with Hull City and German side Bayer Leverkusen battling it out for a victory, whereas Leeds United have been replicating their scheduled fixtures through the latest edition of FIFA.
Sheffield Wednesday have been showcasing some of the best goals that players who have worn the number 10 have scored with supporters nominating certain goals to be shown. One of the few goals that was broadcasted through Wednesday’s social media channels was the strike of Lewis McGugan when his audacious lofted shot flew into the back of the Preston net.

McGugan originally joined the Owls on loan in the 2014/2015 season with the move being made permanent in 2014. He made 39 appearances for the Owls during his stay in South Yorkshire, scoring on nine occasions with the strike against Preston being the pick of the bunch.
Here are some of the best reactions that Twitter had to offer this afternoon, with fans debating how good the goal was given it was deflected, whilst also noting how Jordan Pickford was the opposing goalkeeper…
What a waste of talent he was 😒

Got a bit of a gripe about this goal. It's clearly deflected so can't be classed as a great goal/strike

This is the one goal I’ll always remember!

Doesn’t this take a deflection or am I seeing things?
